Elijah Peterkin
Dancer
Elijah began his dance training in North West London at the age of five. He trained at The London Junior Ballet and at The Royal Academy of Dance before joining The Royal Ballet Junior associates in 2014. At the age of nine, he performed in the world renowned West End production of The Lion King, touring to Southampton, Sunderland, Cardiff, Manchester and Switzerland. After eighteen months touring with Disney, Elijah joined The Royal Ballet School in 2016 which was the start of an eight year vocational journey. He also trained at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts and English National Ballet School, graduating in July 2024. Elijah has performed various ballet and contemporary works including numerous roles in The Royal Ballet’s The Nutcracker from 2016-2019, the Cecchetti Society Centenary Gala in 2022, and English National Ballet’s The Nutcracker in 2023/24. He has danced repertoire from August Bournonville, Andrew McNicol and Monique Jonas, as well as dancing excerpts from George Balanchine, Swan Lake and Don Quixote to name a few. He won a commendation for his Diana and Acteon solo at the Cecchetti Society Trust competition in 2023. In February 2024, he was the second student to join Ballet Black as a Trainee Artist whilst still in vocational training, touring with the Company around the UK, dancing in works by Mthuthuzeli November and Sophie Laplane.
He joins Cassa Pancho’s Ballet Black as First Year Apprentice Artist for the 2024/25 season.
